Commissioning artists for custom work has been around for centuries, many of the masterpieces currently in museums were at one time commissioned by individuals and families to hang in their homes. My goal is to create a special portrait for you that will become a family heirloom to be passed on to the generations to come.
I love having the opportunity to create custom artwork for individuals, families or groups. It is exciting to capture the heart and soul of each animal and bring the photographs of your pet to life with my fabric “paintings”. I am honored to work together with you on such a personal and special piece of art for your home or office.
I strive to make the process flow well and to be easy for you to navigate. The first step is to look around the website and get an idea of what you like then schedule (via email here) your free phone consultation. The call is a time for an exploration of ideas and there is no obligation to buy anything. We will have the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and what is possible. Hopefully we will decide that what you want and what I can provide is a perfect match. You can go to the Frequently Asked Questions page to get more information.
Once you decide that you want to commission a piece we will move to the next step. We will come to an agreement about all the details and expectations. Together we will decide which colors you want to use, if you want the style to be natural or fanciful, what size you want the artwork to be and which package meets your needs. There are 2 packages available to choose from (see packages / pricing page to compare). When we agree on the plan we can then determine the price and a timeframe for the work to be completed.
Gift certificates are available if this is a portrait for someone else and you are not sure of size and style they would like. The gift certificates are the perfect way to give a portrait as a surprise or if you are short on time. You can decide the amount you would like to give and the recipient can add to the amount, as they desire.
My work is priced using a formula that factors in the dimensions of the finished piece including any borders, the finishing techniques used, the costliness of the materials, and the labor-intensity of the techniques and processes that will be involved in creating the piece. I require a materials fee before fabrication begins. Should you later refuse the finished artwork, the materials fee is retained to cover the cost of materials and time spent creating the artwork. I have a payment plan option available for the remaining balance. Go to the Packages / Pricing page for more information.
I am so honored and excited to work with you on creating a beautiful portrait of your beloved pet.
